OK, here's what's happened. The digitizing people ASSUMED that
Seaby's Coin and Medal Bulletin began in 1949 (this may be correct,
but my copy of Clain-Stefanelli's bibliography is on another floor).
They then picked up the snippets you saw, and erroneously attributed
them to the 1949 volume. In fact, they could be from ANY volume from
1949 to 1989. Isn't Google wonderful? Sends us off on a wild goose
chase.
My advice to just join the ANA and borrow the whole publication by
mail in five-year chunks still holds. I recall seeing a number of
items relating to the Channel Islands, not to mention offers of their
coins. You would also enjoy the Numismatic Circular, as it has items
on Channel Islands money from time to time.
