I fully agree with your thinking Billy, and I strongly object to a coin 
commemorating the 450th anniversary of an ENGLISH queen. There's nothing 
`UK' about that. Indeed in terms of `sensitivity' the English Queen 
Elizabeth's most singular claim to infamy was the beheading of Mary 
Queen of Scots. Hardly a rousing call to unity.

I don't think there would be much sup****t in England for a coin 
commemorating Robert The Bruce or the battle of Bannockburn do you? So 
why should we be happy with elizabeth 1 of england?
