UK coin slabbing.

by "note.boy" <note.boy@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Dec 18, 2007 at 08:15 PM

London Coins auction of 1 and 2 December had a UK 1/2d of 1965 slabbed by
CGS as UNC90, they go from 1 to 100 not 1 to 70, it was described as 44
coins of this type slabbed this is the only 90 and the best extant, the
estimate was £15 to £25. London Coins are also the grading company CGS
UK.

I'm pleased to re****t that their ridiculous description failed to hook any

suckers and it was unsold.

In Spink's Numismatic Circular a 1720 ****lling is offered in good EF
condition and slabbed, they offer a free de-slabbing service with it, the
slabbed grade is not given which very sensible of course as it has no
meaning.

Here's hoping CGS won't be around much longer.
