The 'only' time I have seen blooming with the new transformers is on a
modified HV pcb.. why you would replace a 4$, easy to find bu406d with
something else is beyond me.. Thats the only 'mod' I saw (I didn't
really bother looking much as I don't find this supposed
'unreliability' an issue) and judging by the care to sand the
transistor pair markings off, doubt it would be shared... but why
bother when you can still get original parts unless you plan on
routing your amplifone game for 20 hours a day and need 'better'
reliability (if in fact it even does that)? They are fine as-is.. just
do the updates and replace the parts that 'should' be replaced afte 20
years.
