I both agree, and disagree, with the statement that they all "need" fans.
My
current Tempest came from a guy that has owned it for many years, has
never done
a single bit of work to it, and played it constantly. His habit was to
turn it
on and leave it on all day, too. When I showed up to check out the game,
it was
BURNING hot! But still working fine. It was when the weather was still
cool
here, and I noticed as I wheeled the game out to my truck that the entire
cabinet was hot!
While it's true there's obviously something heat-related going on with the
original poster's game, it's not because all vector monitors "need" a fan.
