I played ~20 years ago, I think. I only ever saw the game twice, and
never in a dedicated cabinet. It was a rather vanilla vertical space
shooter. Once you got the maximum weapon powerups it you could play it
pretty much forever. Its playstyle reminded me of Hally's Comet,
especially how the weapon powerups worked.
The only thing that was specific to this game, that I never saw
anywhere
else, was that at certain points in the game, it would *PAUSE* for 99
seconds (I think - there was a count-down timer), loop a little music
ditty, draw some text about how you were "a great player" (or something
like that), and allow you to enter your name for the highscore table.
After the 99 second pause, the game would continue for a while and then
would do the whole thing again! This would repeat until the game was
over.
For the life of me, I cannot remember the name or manuf. of this game.
I know I am not crazy - has anyone else ever played this game?
Thanks!
