Well, that will do it for me. I saw, without rechecking for accuracy, a
newbie post to the group that he was disappointed that some non-US coins
that he got for free weren't going to make him rich. Probably some common
stuff collected from circulation. I see mom did do some active
collecting.
Ok, this is new news. But why the attitude? I didn't see anyone really
lecture or scold. I saw alternate ideas or angles. Which is exactly why
folks usually ask here; to get others' opinions. Ask, and you shall
receive. Instead, it seems we get a long hypocritical lecture because
folks
simply answered the original, poorly worded and vague question. Hmmmm.
I collect bust-era US coins, but have much US "riff raff" that I view as
low-dollar-value. But I still have it; there is a sentimental value.
Some
people's junk, I guess. I have some very old World Crowns/Talers that are
more than beautiful and interesting, and some are 2x or more older than
any
US coin that you can possibly hold. A few ancients obviously even older
than that. Worth some non-trivial money, too. Well, I paid for them, and
often had to compete to do so.
But that's about all the time I have for someone who asks for opinions,
then
seems to be offended by the realistic offerings that result. ... and
doesn't care whether anybody else cares or not. Well, then, why bother
even
asking? Duh.
