I'm all in favor of dumping the $1 and $2 banknotes. Ramp up production
of $1
coins and introduce a $2 coin. Problems solved and at an incredible
savings
to taxpayers. Keeping and redesigning both notes would be a total waste
of
time and treasure.
I have also been in favor of cutting progressively higher denominations
banknotes into progressively longer lengths (a la Australia) for a long
time,
and NOT for the 'blind' issue. The different lengths make them a snap for
the
rest of us to sort and it effectively foils the form of counterfeiting
called
'bleaching'.
