Fort Worth dealer Ron Swiney lost about $1/4 million in coins and
jewelry after someone broke into his
shop early Monday (May 19, 2008) by cutting through the roof and
drilling into his vault. I talked to his wife Pam,
who said that whoever did it knew about coins, as they only took the
most expensive items. They are currently
working on a list of stolen items.
The burglary occured just after the TNA show ended its 4-day run in
Fort Worth, although Swiney was not set
up at the show. A walk-in vault, recent installed at his new larger
store location at a cost of $10,000. was
drilled open.
The alarm system and video system had been disabled and there is no
insurance.
Swiney is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the
arrest and conviction of those responsible.
