So, what's going on in the coin world?

By my reckoning, the last time I paid real attention to what was going on
with coins, it was late 2004. I remember toned coins were fetching high
prices, and there were concerns that those prices would bottom out as more
and more AT and questionable coins saturated the market. GSA Morgans were
sought after, especially CC coins. There were lots of people spending
serious bucks chasing MS-70 and PR-70 moderns for registry sets. State
quarter roll-hoarding was on it's way out. Stujoe and I fought off almost
daily offers for our 1999 proof SBA dollars. That coin's a sleeper, I tell
you and will be worth millions of dollars someday, you just wait. ;o) All
right, if not millions, how about tens of dollars?

So what's going on now? I imagine the soaring prices of gold and silver
have
had some effect on prices and thus what's hot?

And regardless of what's hot, what is everyone here specializing in these
days? I know most here avoid fads and trends like the MS-70 madness.
