I never worried about a handle or gloves , just sort of got used to
holding it, suppose I had a few minor abrasions when I used it when
fini****ng my floors and was at it for hours.
If you wanted you can only sharpen up one side. I usually sharpen both
sides, then can turn it around 4 different ways for a new edge. 4 more
if you use it edge wise.
Also I have sometimes just taken the sharp corners off a tad so as not
to leave a mark from the corner of the tool. if you do this , just do
the one side as the sharp corners come in handy for getting right into
tight corners.
To cut up a handsaw you might neeed to use an abrasive cut disk of
some sort.
This works pretty well for removing the bulk of any runs in the
finish, as long as it has time to really harden. You know how hard it
can be to sand off just the run and not the surrounding area.
