That describes my limited experience with filler. I had expected an easier

process, but -- sheesh!

This was a different brand of filler, not Crystalac.

I guess the scrape-off, or scrub-off, step takes practice and artistry. I 
tried scrubbing off with burlap, as the directions indicated, and ended up

sanding back down to what seemed like ground zero.

The experience caused me to declare a moratorium on buying any more
consoles 
that require stripping. Life is too short.

Maybe one of the sages can provide clever tips on how to apply filler 
without investing a lifetime in getting it right. My problem was all the 
residue left on the flat surface above the ****es. Scrape harder with
credit 
card? Use something else to scrape? Scrub with burlap after scraping?
