It's your choice if you want to gut the filter caps to install new
ones.  That chassis is huge so there is plenty of room  to hide new if
you would rather just disconnect them. I usually like to restuff them
too, but really leaving the old ones present is in a way, less
destructive. Personal preference, neither method is visible without
removing the chassis from the cabinet.

Also with these old TRF's the filter caps are quite a small value, as
mark said "You can use 4.7mfd 450v filter caps"

Personally, here I would spring for non polarized caps here rather
than electrolytics, But I don't know if you would notice a difference
in sound quality , would you?   My reason for favoring the non
electrolytics is simply that I feel more comfortable that they will
last longer,  and it feels a bit strange replacing the big huge block
with a little teeny cap the size onf my fingernail.  :)
