Chairsides

by DeeExxx <fauborgflorida@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 10, 2008 at 05:02 AM

Chairsides seems to be under-represented in vintage radio. I am
wondering if this was due to a relatively small number produced,
compared to consoles and table models, or if they have just not
survived in large numbers. It seems that running an external antenna
to a chairside would be a problem, since consoles and table model
tended to be against walls where lead-in could be run along baseboards
from windows. If the chairside was in the middle of the room, the lead-
in would have to be run under the rug. I suppose all the chairsides
came with at least a simple loop antenna built-in.
