Definitely a "Frankenradio". It may have, at one time, been
the original chassis, but it has long since been gutted. There
are Meissner IF transformers, and a 6F6G being driven by a
6V6 and a 6H6GT dual diode. The wrong speaker, and the wrong
original Tenite (from something else) Firestone pushbutton
escutcheon screwed to the inside of the cabinet to block the
hole the original button escutcheon covered. And of course
the wrong speaker. And the original dial opening was cut open
to make room for the bigger dial.
From the person I got it from, they said, "I got it from this
old lady in 1964." And that makes sense actually, since the
stuff in the set looks like it dates from the '50s even though
the original radio it self was pre-war.
Heh heh, this looks like this should be a fun project to put
back together at least as something that looks nice albeit NOT
original.
