Repair tips and Schematic for a Grunow 1081 Console

by bendixaviation@[EMAIL PROTECTED] May 5, 2008 at 07:56 PM

I just picked up a pretty nice grunow console (Here's the listing
http://desmoines.craigslist.org/clt/657986428.html
  ) model 1081. The
owner insisted that we turn it on so I could see how it lit up. He
turned it off after it started smelling funny, which was either a
rather black looking paper capacitor or the layer of cigarette ash on
everything.
I currently need a schematic for it and part of a control shaft. The
shaft on the 2nd knob from the left is a bit different. I'll try and
describe it the best I can but you'll probably need a picture.
If the shaft was strait it would hit the dial. So instead it is a two
piece setup that goes around the dial making a U. It has two shafts
like this, one is fine and the other is broken where it starts to go
around the dial.
Any other things to look out for on this radio would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks
Alex
