This was pulled up from the bottom of the canal behind my home off in
New****t, South Wales, UK by my good self in 2001.
The South West Office British Waterways workmen who look after and tender
the canal system were dredging the canal for the first time ever and were
pulling up homemade lemonade drink bottles with floating marbles seals,
tin
food tins, they commented this is a typical horde and have seen many
before,
so when this came up in amonsgt silt mud weeds and deep roots they thought
it was a motorcycle wheel or cycle frame, i couldnt resist chancing this
one
and i 'claimed' it by saying "can i have it" and by a positive reply i
then
took owner****p.
It was then was taken home & carefully cleaned of all the clay residue
that
initially covered the gaps between the spokes, i took advice from a local
small paint specialist what product and how to do this. I took advice and
cleaned her with a small brush. It wasnt until i started bringing her back
to life and got right to the slightly oxidised metal base it revealed her
true beauty and history gleaming everywhere. ! ! ! I finally sealed her
with a special metal varnish. That was 7 yrs ago and she's been sitting in
the bottom of my wardrobe, dry safe and happy, but now i think it best if
she gets to be seen admired and cared for under more better qualified and
prouder owners....any out there ? ? ? whoever you are, please feel free to
contact me and ill try and answer any queries you have if you want to put
this BEAUTY above your stone mansion fireplace or even bring her back to
life by commisioning a local tradional carpenter whos remit is to produce
an
authentic repro 18th century wooden barrow that would look fab in your
garden or your living room [wife permitting] with flowers growing out of
or
a flat drinks table for your wine tasting partys...what a talking piece
eh!
My starting price is to cover the costs of materials & the work ive put
in,
more imn****tantly id rather her go to a good home!
Heres her dimensions 2½ inches wide flat rim / wheels is 15½ inches
diameter
wide / the spindle is 10½ inches long by just under an inch wide [great
for
drilling a hole above fireplace and slotting her in]
I'll pack her well in a rigid padded box and send via Trackable/Signable
ParcelForce 48 Delivery Service
