So give him one. Shuttle to dinobird to robot and back! But he's more
likely to be overlooked because he was one of the less-showcased S3
characters.

>(2)Trypticon. WHY? No robot mode

Dino mode was cool enough that he didn't need a robot mode. Not to mention
that he's already been given a robot mode (and name trademark retention)
in his Classic guise, so there's precedent for a robot-to-beast Trypticon
in future. And the name is just _that_ cool.

Or he could just be the next 'big guy' robot. Metroplex got a mold in
_Cybertron_. Omega Supreme looks like making an appearance in _Animated_.
Perhaps the Fort Max name will be slapped on something big in the next
series.

Or they don't care about updating characters which only the Japanese and a
handful of fanboys ever heard about.

>(5)Blaster,WHY? He's destined to be a repaint of whatever new mold

Broadblast. OK, so he's still a repaint, but not of Soundwave.

Who knows what concepts might get revisted? The toy tech exists now to
make them work a whole lot better, and there's still the appeal of 'two
toys in one' - three, if you count the internal robot's modes as two.

>(7)Almost all of the 1987-1990 TF G-1 toys. apparently hasbro doesn't

Goldbug.

A lot of the names have been reused, though. Big Daddy. Down****ft.
Metroplex. Trypticon. Blurr. Cyclonus. Repugnus. Scattershot. Scourge.
Scattershot. Landmine. Nightbeat. Quickmix. Sky High. Overload. Roadblock.
Barricade. Treadshot.

Dreadwing got a repaint body, as did Sixshot.

I suppose it really depends on whether it has to be the same character.
And if there is going to be a remake, it'll be the more well-known G1
characters at the head of the line - meaning those who had significant
onscreen or in-comic roles.

>(8)TF G-1 Autobot cassettes. WHY? Because only soundwave is getting

The names might get reused somewhere, though.

New characters are easier to make as they don't have the restrictions of
having to design them to match previous obscure characters. However, once
a mold exists, slapping an older name on a repaint is a good way to keep
the trademark. And occasionally, a Hasbro designer will get nostalgic and
actually toss in some homage bits or semi-accurate repaint versions, as
long as it can be done on time and under budget.

>Here's my short of what I think will sell well:
>(1)Sixshot,why? 6 modes of conversion.

I seem to recall someone on a convention panel saying multichangers were
seriously hard to design, which gave me the impression that we wouldn't
see anything above the occasional triplechanger any time soon. Sure, it
might sell (especially if given a large show role), but whether it would
sell well enough to justify the increased design time is debatable. The
same time might be better put into making two or three normal designs.

>(2)Pretender Thunderwing why? it's half organic & half metalic. It'll
>be interesting if done right.

I can see the name being used again, but I'm not holding out for
Pretenders to be tried again any time soon.

>(3)all those Takara exclusive G-1 TF molds. Why? the molds had a lot
>of creativity to offer.

At the time, yes. Today? How many would pass modern safety standards? How
many would be bricks compared to this year's new toys? How many have
pop-off, pop-on joints, extensive current media appearances, or quite
simply the raw play value for kids?

New toys will have just as much creativity, appeal to 21st-century kids
instead of 20th-century, and will be less likely to result in a lawsuit.
There isn't even enough pressure from adult collectors in Japan to have
them reissued, let alone the rest of the world.
