So what's your favorite TF 2008 toy line? is it TF Animated or TF
universe 2.0?
My 2 cents:
At first I'll admit in late 2007 that my favorite was Classics 2.0.
Now in may 2008,my favorite is TF animated.
WHY? The change in direction?
Mainly because most of the following reasons:
(1)The TF toys in the Classics 2.0 line is less superior than the 2006
Classics 1.0 line.
Classics 1.0 had 3 top notch voyager sized toys. 2 leaders & one who
often took the role of leader in prime's absence in the marvel UK
comics.
(2) The bigger sized toys in 2.0 makes no sense & pisses me off. we
could of had galvatron,rodimus prime,shockwave & sixshot. instead we
got upsized & out of scale basic & 2 deluxes sized up into voyager
size level.
(3) Didn't the ALT/BT line center around giving updated homages to the
1984-1985 autobot car/bots. did we really need classics 2.0 mini-me
versions of these alt/BT toys so damn fast.
(4)for the most part the only Classics 2.0 molds i'm actually looking
forward to is Galcatron,Cyclonus & Octane. the reason why I like TF
animated better is because I'm looking forward to about 10+ molds from
that line.
My main reasons Why I like TF animated better:
(1) the TF Animated designs are less blocky,less square limbs,more
curves. more streamlined.
(2) The TFA designs sort of remind me of the 1986 designs. no not as
far as the toys both being curvy & non-blocky. I'm referring to the
TF animated toys matching the 1986 movie & season 3 art sketches in
curves,streamlined,round limbs. futeristic alt modes for the autobots.
futeristic+nightmare hell design alt modes for the decepticons.
(3) TFA has way more im****tant core updated homages compared to the
low ranking homage updates that classics 2.0 has.
(4)the promise of upcomming homage updates like
shockwave,wreckgarr,blurr,galvatron-hopefully not a
repaint,swindle,jetfire+jetstorm combiner.
(5) It appears that Leader sized TFA Megatron earth design is a slight
homage to the 1992 takara "battle stars/return of convoy" super
megatron art sketches in the toy pamplets & magna comics.
(6)For the most part the TF Animated toys appear to be in proper toy
size scale. while TF Classics 2.0 has wrong size scale levels.
powerglide's a basic not a ultra. silverbolt & onslaught are deluxes &
not ultra's. galvatron's a ultra & not a deluxe.
