This is a review of DK Publi****ng's "Transformers: The Ultimate
Sticker Book." Selling for $6.99 US or $9.99 CDN, the book is
entirely G1 stickers. Its copyright date is 2003, but I just got one
this past week.
There are four pages of outlines and short blurbs about the various
TFs whose stickers fit the outlines. The stickers that go in the
outlines, however, are less than half the over 60 stickers included.=20
The other pages are battle scenes that appear to be borrowed from
original G1 box art. The stickers themselves appear to be a mix of
original package art, cartoon-style images, and Dreamwave art. They
feature both factions in both robot and alt mode and faction insignia.
The one feature that doesn't seem to work is the idea that you can
make your own battle scenes. I find the box art is so busy and
detailed already that adding stickers just covers things up; a blank
scene with no TFs would be more suited to "making your own battle
scene."
However, the stickers are nice and the pages are such that it is
possible to easily remove, and/or reposition the stickers if you
choose. Therefore, the stickers aren't necessarily stuck forever
where you put them as long as you put them on the book's special
pages. This makes it nice if you don't line something up within the
outlines the first time :)
