Hey guys,
I'm making a documentary on GI Joe, specifically... the 1980s Real
American Hero line.
This is a 2 part request.
First, have any of you or anyone that you know joined the military
based, partly on the fact that you grew up watching GI Joe? I spent
the better part of my formative years longing to sly a skystriker, so
I was hoping I could find a few people out that were inspired to join
the armed forces due to GI Joe. Heck, even if you wanted to join the
military because of Joe, let me know.
If you would you like to be included in the film, it can be done
various ways. You can just write about your experience, you could
record some audio talking about it, or you could film yourself, or
have someone film you talking about your experience.
If you'd like to be included, email me: Schizofisto@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
request... and this is a doozey, I know.
I had all of my VHS tapes of the cartoon ripped onto my hard drive. I
just got a new computer and the drive was damaged as I was switching
it over. I lost all of my episodes and about 35 minutes of footage and
music I had already put together.
Is there anyone out there that can help me save some time? It'll take
me weeks to rip and encode all of those episodes again. It's not that
I don't want to take the time to sit through another round of the
greatest cartoon series ever... but I'm really strapped for time. Go
figure... I finally get a computer that can handle the worlkload and I
lose everything in the process.
If you can help me get my hands on avi or dvd copies of the series...
I was using my original VHS tapes, so I'm not too concerned with
quality... I would be eternally grateful. I'd gladly hook you up in
return. If there's something GI Joe related I can offer in return...
let me know. I'll see what I can do.
I just can't afford hundred of dollars to buy used/bootlegged copies
of the DVDs for like 10 seconds of footage from a handful of episodes.
I just blew my bankroll on a quad core processor and editing software.
So, in many ways.. I'm up a dark and smelly creek.
If any of you can help... please let me know.
Thanks everyone...
Let the flaming begin.

I can't reveal too much, but I'm going to take a very cool approad
at looking at GI JOE. When this film is done, hopefully you will all
be interested in seeing it.
