Identification of pre WW2 Polish decoration/medal

by karolw85@[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sep 17, 2006 at 08:59 AM

Could anyone help me identify a military medal.

I believe it to be a pre World War II Polish military decoration or
medal.

It is a white enamelled gilt maltese cross with ball finials similar to
"Polonia Restytuta" cross. The medallion in the centre of the cross is
red and white quartered (similar to a BMW badge, but red instead of
blue) with gold detail within the quarters which I cannot identify.

The cross is surmounted by a golden royal crown.

Any help is gratefully appreciated.
