How to Value war medals

by John/Charleston <Johns6666@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sep 9, 2006 at 03:34 PM

Hi folks,

I came across a small collection of medals that an uncle gave me when
I was a kid (many years ago).
Some are WW2, some civil war or civil war commemorative medals, some
from early 1900's.

I've looked on the web, in groups, at the library and the only place I
can find any kind of clue is looking for Ebay listings. Can these
be counted on for a semi-accurate valuation of a medal? I'm not a
collector and have no idea what these are worth and I'd just as soon
sell them, buy some tools I need and let someone who appreciates
medals appreciate these.

I don't think they're worth any large amount of money...but I'd
appreciate any leads on how to find out their value.

Thanks,
John
Charleston, SC
