Well, it is the muting circuit. I unplugged the mute circuit
connector on the amplifier and I had music, loud music!!! I was able
to control the volume with the Ipod.
Now I need to figure out how to disable the mute circuit with
unplugging the connector. Hopefully the CD player doesn't affect it/
