Like all contract Japanese production, they "marketed" both. They made
low end bikes with entry cranks, brakes, Suntour derailleurs etc . . .
but they also spec'd and sold some better bikes in the $400 - $500 price
range. The better bikes used Sugino "mighty" cranks (a copy of
Campagnolo), the better grades of both Suntour and ****mano derailleurs
etc. The better models used chromoly alloy lugged frames, the cheaper
ones non-alloy steel, but still lugged. Ni****ki was not an actual
manufacturer. I don't know who actually made the bikes, but in the mid
1980's, the key makers were Bridgestone, Fuji, Panasonic (who made tons
of contract labels, Miyata.
