Hi
I help run a charity called CHhugs - Children's Hospice Hugs. Basically I
approach celebrities and ask them if they will sign a couple of beanies.
One
is then auctioned and the other goes into the Wish Box for donation direct
to a sick child on request.
We currently make donations to 26 fulltime hospices which are just for
children, and 6 day care and hospice in the home care centres.
Currently all the hospices rely on donations to keep going. I know for one
that I could not do the work they do, and they make these hospices a place
of love and brightness, instead of god's waiting rooms. They do incredible
work.
All the beanie we get signed are donated, enabling us to put every single
penny into CHhugs. We all do it on a non profit basis, and I get paid
nothing for doing it. It just takes my spare time to try and make a
difference.
The reason for my post?
To ask that if you have any spare beanies / buddies / boppers / attics /
Disney etc that are taking up space we at CHhugs would welcome them - tag
condition is not im****tant and they can even be tagless - they are all
useful for signing.
So far we have donated £9000, over 1000 beanie baby toys, and signed items
which have raised in excess of another £5000.
