Public scolding to Star Wars "fans"

by Sue H <dahoov2@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 12, 2008 at 10:29 AM

Cetainly you are no fans for the shameful behavior I see going on
today. So much stuff it's put dark marks on the hobby and you've
really tainted the love I had for these films...

Anyway, right now it one of the several subjects which has me really
hot right now. Ruining innocent people's names for the sake of "pure
autographs".

I understand the need for not spending money on frauds and forgeries.
I do. Probably more than anyone else. BUT I do not condone what i am
hearing about on the boards/forums. There are people starting rumors
and acting like they are fact. Today's target (it reminds me of high
school bullying) is Lightning Bear. First Hal Wamsley and a few
others cames to light but now a man in the business for many years.
Now I am not defending him. I do not know if perhaps he did lie and
say he was something he was not. But it is YOU fans who need to do a
few things before ruining what could be an innocent man's reputation
before you start all the rumor-mongering. Perhaps it might be wise to
speak with the man and ask proof? I'll be doing that myself today. I
already did some things for you, but before you go off and ruin the
hobby furter, GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT. I've started the process by
emailing Steve Sansweet and I'll be forwarding to Howard Roffman
(maybe; we'll see), Mary Franklin and the legal department (sorry,
don't know anyone there so I'll just be doing that a little later). I
hope in the meantime, before you do any more damage, you question
Lucasfilm about it's actors before damaging people's lives..

It's at this point, I see that for Lightning Bear to lie would be
foolish. It is quite possible for a faulty memory (I've seen that
DOZENS of times). Facts people, facts. You are also putting all the
people at Lucasfilm who are responsible for the "official"
Celebrations at risk of losing their jobs. Don't you see, that if
Lucasfilm allows people who were not in the film to profit off the
Lucasfilm name it does Lucasfilm damage?. Not only in reputation but
in a potential class action lawsuit where they'll have to reimburse
for all those "rumored" actos who are lying. Sci-fi uncredited will
go down in flames. Most of their actos are 'sketchy' at best with no
proof. Hal Wamsley anyone? Let's sue him too. Let's make it so
nobody will do an interview, sign at all, or even talk to the fans,
lest they exaggerate or perhaps say the wrong lines, or get their
character wrong or something else that may be worthy of getting sued
over. Oooh, or remember the one actos who tole me about about Barry
Holland being a potential fraud? He supposedly is exaggerating a few
things. Or the actors who sign Gerald Home's photos all the time but
they were other Calamari. That's right... we're getting into who
said what on film territory now. Now all the actors are in risk of
fraud for writing down wrong lines.... and signing wrong photos...
If you are so damned worried about these actors signing whatever in
whatever pen in whatever light/dark spot and ru****ng their signatures,
putting the wrong lines, signing the wrong photos....LEAVE THE HOBBY!
Get a real damned life.

Let's not forget the innocent man who's been in the business for a
long time. A man who worked with many great directors and actors etc,
before you outed him as a liar, potentially ruining his one claim to
fame and potentially only source of income. Before you did that,
shouldn't you give him the common courtesy of responding before the
rumors hit the fan? ASK HIM for God's sake. Gee f&^*^* whizz.

Irritated, shamed of this hobby, pissed off actually and depressed is
just a little of what I feel. People suck. The whole lot of you.
And I get a call from someone telling me this who now is pissed at me
because I stuck up for the man for just now. He is a little mad at my
jaded opinion, but he did what they are all doing. He said I think
they're right. Without even finding evidence, he came to me and said
"I think he did lie about being in the film because nobody remembers
him". Yeah, nobody being Dicky? Give me a damned break. The movie
was over 31 years ago!!! But last I looked, it was a country that you
were innocent till proven guilty.

PS class action lawsuit against Lucasfilm? I call for it. Reason one
is If I am to ever get another Star Wars graph again, I want to be
sure of what I am getting. Also, if he is a fraud, I want my money
back for every actor who I paid to sign something that signed on the
wrong photo, put the wrong lines from the film, misrepresented
themselves as being in the film and I have lost faith in George Lucas
who sues people but when it comes to helping us autograph fans, he
does NOTHING. I am dissalusioned because Lucasfilm promotes these
events on Starwars.com, that several people like Steve, Mary and
others are responsible for the guests in the end (yeah **** rolls
uphill) and allowed them to remain.... and ripping me off. George
attended the Celebration and I listened to him in person touting more
projects in which actors will be springing up for other TV shows and
whatnot. At an autograph convention, meaning to me, he's sanctifying
the whole thing, so don't forget to include George in the suit by name
please. There are thousands upon thousands of graphs out there
probably wrong and I want ALL my money back, including all the ones I
bought for my friends.... and on all those action figures we had
signed, posters that were ruined or Official Pix or EXPENSIVE items, I
want refunds for those too. Because now those items are ruined.

Oh, by the way for the people on this board. The fan proof? In one
scene, Bear is supposedly shorter than Harrison Ford. (I guess they
never heard of camera angles which make the main star be the more
dominant one) and the other proof is that one of the stuntment
"doesn't remember him". some proof. 31 years ago he can remember
thousands who were in the film; science should examine his brain for a
cure for Alzheimers.

All you Star Wars actors beware. If you do not have proof, you are
next on the list (which is growing as we speak).

Enough said, I needed a long rant. This is just one of the things
these MORON "collectors" do. Analyzing pens, shapes of the letters to
determine which is more valuable my ass! You're all ridiculous. I
won't even get into the older collectors taking advantage of these
stupid newbies. Just shame on you all.
