Today I heard Tommy Ramone, original drummer for the Ramones, was
going to be at an NPR station here. I got out of work and was there
by 11:30AM for his 12PM appearance. Missed him going in, but the
receptionist told me to go have a seat in the lobby...which was right
in front of the studio he was playing in. They have big glass widnows
there so I could see everything. He came out after tuning up and
introduced myself. He asked my name and I also told him I was a life
long fan. He answered "Hello, fan." He signed 11 items for me,
including one of my 36" drumsticks. He had to go back in to play but
said he would come out to pose for a picture afterhe was done. I sat
and watched him play through the windows, as they were playing the
music in the lobby. When they were done I saw him point out to me
while still in studio. He came out and asked "Do you want the picture
or something now?" We talked about his new bluegrass CD and the show
tonight. Also posed for a photo. He was totally cool in a 1 on 1
situation.
Good Luck,
Craig
